Giving Young People a Path Into Public Service
For young people considering a career in law enforcement, firsthand experience can make a meaningful difference.
Edina/Eden Prairie Explorer Post 925 gives participants an opportunity to learn about law enforcement and the role it plays in the community. Through training, practical experiences and interaction with public-safety professionals, Explorers gain a clearer understanding of the career and the responsibilities that come with it.
Many young people who participate in the program eventually go on to pursue careers in law enforcement.
The Edina First Responders Fund supports Explorer Post 925 by paying participants’ travel expenses to an out-of-state conference every other year. That experience gives Explorers additional opportunities to learn, test their skills and connect with other young people who share their interests.
