Helping Children Learn How to Stay Safe

Children are better prepared when they know how to recognize an unsafe situation and where to turn for help.

In partnership with the Rotary Club of Edina Morningside, the Edina First Responders Fund supports the Junior Police Program in Edina’s elementary schools.

During classroom visits, officers speak with students about personal and street safety, potential dangers and the actions children can take if they become involved in an unsafe situation.

The program provides practical information while helping students become more comfortable interacting with police officers. Those early, positive connections can build confidence, trust and a stronger sense of safety.
